Feb. 11--NFL ASKING FOR TROUBLE WITHOUT FULL-TIME OFFICIALS: Item: The day after losing to Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, Seattle coach Mike Holmgren said he "didn't know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well."
I think: I don't believe the striped shirts hijacked the Super Bowl from the Seahawks, but it's asinine the NFL doesn't hire full-time officials. The league leaves itself open to extra criticism by using officials who work other jobs practically every day but game day.
Item: The Twins aren't legally bound to the Metrodome beyond this season.
