SAYING THE PHILIPPINES HAS BEEN PLUNGED INTO a constitutional crisis, 17 of the country's 23 senators yesterday asked the Supreme Court to stop President Macapagal-Arroyo from enforcing her controversial Executive Order No. 464.
Senate President Franklin Drilon said he and the other senators were asking the high court to "take prompt action to avert a direct confrontation between the Senate and Malacaang." He said Ms Arroyo was "criminally liable" for issuing such an order.
