from BUSINESS LINE, December 31, 2005 New Delhi, Dec 30 - THE fiscal deficit of the Central Government widened by 59.71 per cent during April-November 2005 to Rs 1,12, 949 crore compared to Rs 70,717 crore in the year-ago period, mainly on account of lower revenues and higher spending during the period under review

The deficit was equivalent to 74.7 per cent of the budgeted fiscal deficit of Rs 1,51,144 crore for 2005-06

The year-ago period's deficit was equivalent to 51.5 per cent of the Budget estimate of Rs 1,37,407 crore for 2004-05
