Saint-Gobain has snubbed BPB's plans to implement a new Oracle IT system by terminating the project at a cost of nearly #9m.
The French building materials group, which bought BPB for #3.9bn last December, says the system is "not as up-to-date" as the SAP system Saint-Gobain installed more than two years ago.
BPB uses Oracle's JD Edwards system, which covers the finance, purchasing, customer service and manufacturing departments.
The company is thought to have only been in the early stages of the project to update the systems before Saint-Gobain pulled the plug.
