Feb. 8--Good Hope Hospital in Harnett County will close in April unless its administrators can reach a resolution with a competitor about the hospital's expansion plans.

Executives with the 93-year-old hospital said Tuesday that they had no choice but to suspend operations. Good Hope Hospital is trying to get a new building, but it has been embroiled in a three-year legal battle that is draining its financial resources.

The hospital's 160 workers were told Tuesday morning that they could lose their jobs.
