Feb. 7--FIVE WIN RICE BIDS:
COMMODITIES: Five local rice exporters have won bids to buy a total of 623,000 tonnes of 5 percent grade white rice from the Commerce Ministry.
Officials said they were satisfied with the offered prices, which ranged from US$295 to $300 per tonne. The auction earned $184 million, or about 7.3 billion baht, for state coffers, said Rachane Potjanasunthorn, director-general of the ministry's Foreign Trade Department.
