Feb. 5--STOCKTON - Bear Creek High School won the San Joaquin County Academic Decathlon in competition against 11 other schools Saturday and will represent the region at the statewide championship March 17-18 in Los Angeles.
That means, of course, that her teammates must refocus themselves for more training, Bear Creek Coach Lynda Farrar said.
"We'll be studying hard for the state competition," she promised Saturday, while clutching the county championship trophy.
Team co-captain Laurie Wright said she was surprised but pleased with the team's victory. "It's really nice to be recognized for our hard work," she said.…
