Feb. 4--Political uncertainties ahead of today's public rally at the Royal Plaza have had a minimal impact on the economy and money markets so far.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the rally this evening to protest against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's policies.
The baht weakened slightly yesterday to 39.36/38 to a dollar, compared with 39.21/23 in the morning.
M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, the governor of the Bank of Thailand, said the depreciation of the baht was driven mainly by the appreciation of the dollar.
