Feb. 4--Laotian state enterprises will be invited to issue baht-denominated debt instruments in the Thai market to help raise funds for new hydroelectric projects, says Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya.
The proposal is part of some initiatives being developed by regional policymakers to help strengthen bond markets and promote cross-border investment.
He said Laotian state enterprises would benefit from lower funding costs through bonds issued in Thailand and pave the way for future Laotian issues.
