The international library and information community has been much saddened to learn of the sudden death of Professor L Anne Clyde in Reykjavik. Anne has been a great friend and colleague to many of us in IFLA and the library and information profession. Her untimely loss removed an outstanding library educator, vigorous proponent for school libraries and strong IFLA supporter.

Until her death, Anne Clyde was the 2003-2007 Chair of the IFLA Section of School Libraries and Resource Centres and Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Iceland, an Associate of the Australian Library and Information Association, a Fellow of CILIP…
