This will be my last issue as Editor of Australian Academic & Research Libraries. I served an apprenticeship as Associate Editor and Book Review Editor under Peter Biskup from 1992 to the beginning of 1997, and then took over from him as Editor. That makes a total of 14 years, nine as Editor: long enough, I think.

Peter Biskup heads a long list of acknowledgements: from him, I learnt how to be editor of a journal such as this. Next come the three Associate Editors, Russell McCaskie, Mandy Lupton and Kay Barney, with all of whom it has been both a pleasure and great fun to work.
