KUANTAN, Wed. - Indra Putra Mahayuddin today denied he was a drug addict and stressed that he had never taken banned performance-enhancing drugs in his six-year professional career.

Indra Putra, identified as the player who tested positive for drug abuse and detained by the police, said with the full support of his family and teammates he hoped to pick up the pieces and continue playing football for many years to come.
