KUALA LUMPUR: There is an urgent need to step up doping tests among footballers in the M-League.

This is the opinion of FA of Malaysia consultant sports physician Dr Ronnie Yeo, who strongly believes many Malaysian footballers are on drugs.

"We are not just talking about cannabis (ganja) but health supplements and performance-enhancing pills," he said, in the wake of the remand of a Pahang footballer for alleged drug abuse over the weekend in Kuantan.
