Chris Macdonald promoted from client services director in a bid to strengthen senior management.
McCann Erickson has promoted Chris Macdonald, its client services director, to managing director.
The move is designed to strengthen McCann's senior management team, which has been without a managing director since Nick Wright left the agency in December 2004.
Macdonald, 38, joined McCann from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R in January last year. During the past 12 months, he led the team that won the Bisto and Sharwood's business and has run the UK American Airlines account.
McCann London's chief executive, Stephen Whyte, said: 'Chris has been a hugely positive influence. His promotion will allow me to spend even more time with clients and on new business.'
