Feb. 2--Sustained high oil prices and rising food costs have pushed inflation higher in January after easing figures for the previous two months, the Commerce Ministry said.
The consumer price index (CPI), which measures inflation, rose 5.9 percent in January from the same month last year, picking up from 5.8 percent in December.
Core inflation, which excludes energy and food prices, rose 2.5 percent, against 2.6 percent in December.
