Feb. 2--TOKYO -- The Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement will make it possible for Japanese investors to use Thailand as an export base, a Thai official said.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Thailand and Japan have nearly finalised an economic partnership agreement that focuses on tax cuts for bilateral trade.
He noted that the agreement would let Japanese investors use Thailand as a springboard for exporting goods to India, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Vietnam.
He expected investment would flow into Thailand following the implementation of the agreement in October.
