Feb. 1--Many farmers have had little success securing government funds to prepare for increased competition generated by free trade agreements.
The Kamphaeng Saen Beef Cattle Farmers Co-operative of Kasetsart University (KU) is a good example.
"The co-operative submitted its proposal a year ago. We will get the funds sooner or later. The approval process has been prolonged as officials involved in the process had to take care of VIPs at the mobile cabinet meeting and the prime minister's reality show," said Chainarong Kanthapanit, the co-operative's president.
