TOKYO, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Japan's Honda Motor Co. (TSE:7267) said Tuesday that it intends to reduce production from April to December at its minivan and sport utility vehicle factory in Alabama due to falling demand caused by rising gasoline prices.
With an annual output capacity of 300,000 units, production will be trimmed by 27,000 vehicles. At present, the plant's first assembly line manufactures the company's Odyssey minivan, while a second line makes both the minivan and the Pilot SUV.
Beginning in April, daily output on the first line will be curbed from 650 vehicles to 500. ...
