PERTH, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Energy company Origin Energy Resources Ltd (ASX:ORG) Tuesday warned of possible delays to its developing Kupe gas project, offshore New Zealand.
The company, which owns half of the project, said the decision to invest in the project may not occur by the end of the first quarter as previously advised.
But said it was expected in the first half of 2006.
Once the $NZ800 million ($A729.29 million) project is approved commercial gas and liquids production will start in 2008, Origin said.
Origin awarded key drilling contracts for the project today and is now evaluating bids for the onshore component, including construction of the production station and associated pipelines.
"The award of the drilling contract is a key project milestone," Origin executive general manager for major development, Andrew Stock.
Also today Origin posted steady production in the final quarter of 2005, but recorded a slight decline in total revenues.
