SAN DIEGO & AUCKLAND, New Zealand--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2006--Protemix Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company focused on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other metabolic disorders, today announced the election of Jean-Pierre Millon, former chief executive officer of PCS Health Systems, Inc. and senior executive at Eli Lilly & Company, as chairman of the Protemix Board of Directors.
"Jean-Pierre Millon brings to our board extensive experience building and running companies in the pharmaceutical sector, both in the United States and internationally," said Larry Ellingson, chief executive officer of Protemix. "His more than 20 years as a senior manager at Eli Lilly & Company, as well as his role as president and CEO of PCS Health Systems, gives him a perspective on healthcare systems and the delivery of care that will be invaluable to Protemix as we grow our business."
Mr. Millon has spent nearly 30 years within the pharmaceutical industry including more than 23 years with Eli Lilly & Company. There he held a series of increasingly responsible positions, including director of corporate strategic planning and president and general manager of Eli Lilly Japan K.K., ultimately becoming president and chief executive officer of PCS Health Systems. When Lilly sold PCS Health Systems to Rite-Aid Corporation, Mr. Millon remained in his executive leadership role at PCS until 2000. Today Mr. Millon remains a member of the board of directors of the company's successor, Caremark Inc.
