Feb. 1--Japanese businesses in Thailand expect to increase the amount of capital investment in the country by 15.7 percent this year, according to the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro).
Atsuo Kuroda, the president of Jetro in Bangkok, said the results were based on a survey of 1,240 members of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok (JCCB) from Nov 1 to Dec 2 last year.
Jetro received responses from 309 members to a series of questions about their outlook for the first half of 2006.
