Feb. 1--TOKYO -- The Japanese manufacturer of Panasonic and Matsushita products plans to boost its investment in Thailand.

Matsushita Corporation also aims to keep its production base for Asian exports in the country.

The company's commitment is in line with a favourable new package of investment privileges offered recently by the Board of Investment (BoI), according to Yoichi Morishita, the chairman of Matsushita Corp.
