Feb. 1--TOKYO -- The Japanese consumer-products giant Lion yesterday signed an agreement with Saha Pathanapibul Plc (Sahapat) to use Thailand as a base for exporting into the Asian region.
Lion hopes the move would help increase its sales in Thailand to 10 billion baht in 2010 from an estimated six billion baht this year.
Lion has a long-standing relationship with the Saha Group, with the joint venture Lion Corporation (Thailand), which has been producing and marketing a wide range of consumer products for the Thai market for 37 years.
