Maersk is to launch a new weekly Australia'Southeast Asia service in April to replace both P'O Nedlloyd's former AAX connection to Singapore, and the P'O Nedlloyd westabout service to Europe on the former ANZ Alliance, reports Lloyd's List DCN in Australia.
The rotation will be Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Tanjong Pelepas and Singapore, before returning to Sydney.
Europe-bound cargo to and from Australia will be relayed on to the line's multiple Asia'Europe strings at the Tanjong Pelepas hub terminal in Malaysia.
AAX, which now comprises ANL, APL, Djakarta Lloyd and NYK, will jointly provide a fourth ship to replace the departing P'O Nedlloyd unit and continue with the same weekly rotation as before.
