GSIS duped of P2.4 million by former computer staff.

The Government Service Insurance System's (GSIS) electronic database was defaced by three of its employees last year, and with it, illegally transferred more than P2 million in funds to 24 member-employees of the Philippine Postal Corp.

In a statement, the state insurer said it had sued data controller Reuben Cellona, and computer operators Emmanuel Valera and Clemente Flojo before the Ombudsman for direct bribery and graft.

GSIS said the anomaly took place in 2004 but was discovered only last year.
