Taiwanese consumer electronics maker BenQ has plans to dig deeper into the market this year, leveraging on the anticipated recall from its recently launched brand for mobile phones.
Three models of BenQ-Siemens brand were introduced to local media representatives on Friday and were set for commercial release within the first quarter.
These make up the first set of products released after BenQ bought the entire mobile devices unit of German giant Siemens AG in October last year.
For this year, BenQ is considering the global release of 30 new mobile phone models, in which 10 are third-generation phone models and the rest are low-cost phone models designed for emerging markets.
But BenQ's foray into the country will go beyond cellphones. …
