Jan. 29--Cabarrus County is hosting the Special Olympics North Carolina Basketball Tournament and Cheerleading Championship next month, and more volunteers than originally thought are needed to help. More than 400 volunteers were requested for the event, scheduled to be played Feb. 24-26 at various venues throughout the county. Now, organizers anticipate 100 more volunteers are needed to accommodate increased interest in the tournament.
