Investors continue 'fowl play'.

INVESTORS continued to have a strong appetite for poultry stocks yesterday, on hopes that a possible rise in the prices of chicken and eggs may boost company earnings.

Four of the six most actively-traded counters were poultry firms - DBE Gurney Resources Bhd, Emivest Bhd, TPC Plus Bhd and Leong Hup Holdings Bhd.

Trades in these four stocks accounted for 12 per cent of the day's total volume of 687 million shares.

Fund managers attributed the interest to the fact that poultry firms stand to see better earnings should the Government raise the prices on chicken and eggs.
