Jan. 28--Millions of people with diabetes will soon have a new option for getting some of the insulin they must inject every day: They can inhale it.
On Friday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave approval to Pfizer, the world's largest pharmaceutical company, to market its inhaled insulin product called Exubera.
The product -- a powdered form of insulin that can be inhaled into the lungs through the patient's mouth using a specially designed inhaler -- probably will be available in pharmacies this summer.
