Jan. 27--Megan Bellue isn't from San Jose, but she already cares a lot about the city and its history.

Bellue took over in December as the executive director of Preservation Action Council San Jose, a group that counts the Montgomery Hotel, San Jose State's Scheller House and Mark's Hot Dogs among its successful rescue missions.

Her background in preservation includes stops over the past 10 years in Washington, D.C., Athens, Ga., and most recently in Sacramento where she was an associate city planner.
