The power of new.(FROM THE EDITOR)(aquatics facilities )(Brief Article)(Editorial)
Sometimes it seems as if our culture is obsessed with newness. Everything, we're told, is new and improved. The latest. The greatest.
Bombarded with so much hyperbole, it s easy to forget just how important newness really is in our everyday lives. So it seems only appropriate in this new year to reflect for a moment on a few examples of why newness matters.
Biologically, our bodies rely on newness to stay alive. Indeed, from the moment we are conceived, we become factories that continually produce new cells. It's only when our bodies stop producing these new cells that we begin to age and eventually die.
But the importance and power of newness goes beyond biology. It's just as important in the business world. New ideas and innovations fuel growth. New employees bring much-needed new blood into an organization and often wind up producing better products.
