Tokyo, 22 January: The ruling Liberal Democratic Party has decided to study the feasibility of relaxing Japan's restrictions on the use of the fruit of space development for defence purposes, party sources said Sunday [22 January].

The LDP is expected to seek enabling defence-purpose use as long as it is not aimed at invading other countries and explore ways to enable the Defence Agency to develop and operate spy satellites that produce high-resolution images, they said.
