German fertilizer manufacturers are observing the gas dispute between Russia and the Ukraine. If Russia stops the supply of natural gas this would affect European manufacturers of nitrogen fertilizers which would have to find other suppliers. The German AHL and urea market is primarily supplied from Russia but demand for imports is currently low. New supplies of urea from Russia are expected to resume from mid-Jan 2006. Prices for natural gas and fertilizers are discussed. …
