BOSTON -- A new image editing technology that brings workstation speed and productivity to Macintosh users was the talk of Macworld Expo here last week.

Live Picture, developed by a French company but being marketed in the United States by HSC Software, impressed show-goers and Apple executives.

"[Live Picture] puts the performance of our Quadras on a par with high-end imaging workstations," said Ian Diery, executive vice president of Apple Computer Inc.'s personal computer division. "Right now you will only see this on the Macintosh platform -- not Windows, not DOS," Diery added.
