Heart Technology manufactures and markets the Rotablator system, which treats atherosclerosis, a form of coronary artery disease. It is a patented method to mechanically remove plaque from blocked arteries.

The system was developed over an 11-year period by David Auth, the company's founder, and a small group of engineers and technicians. The company was established in 1989 and had an initial public stock offering in March 1992. It has 184 employees.
