Jan. 17--RAEFORD -- The Hoke County Department of Social Services will reopen Wednesday in the old armory building in Raeford, officials say.

The department's offices in downtown were damaged by a fire Saturday that left the building uninhabitable.

Social services employees will spend today setting up their temporary offices in the armory's senior citizen room. The armory is at 423 E. Central Ave., near the House of Raeford poultry plant.

County Manager Mike Wood said Monday that he thinks the department will operate out of the armory for two or three weeks. By Feb. 1, the Hoke County Health Department should be…
