In the movie, The Tao of Steve, the idea is that guys named Steve impart a confidence so supreme that you can't resist it, citing such famous Steves as McQueen, McGarrett (from TV's Hawaii Five-O) and Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man). Well, we know at least one Steve who is a complete idiot, but those other Steves really are cool, especially McQueen, and it's about time someone honored him.
The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles has gathered perhaps the most complete and significant collection of cars and motorcycles associated with McQueen's storied life, both movie cars and those he simply liked and drove in his time off. It starts with a 1948 MG TC like the one McQueen used to tool around Greenwich Village before he was famous.
