Section: Regional News - Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has urged ministries and local authorities to ensure safe and enjoyable celebrations during this month's Tet (Lunar New year) holiday.

The Prime Minister's message, sent to a wide-ranging number of government authorities and bodies last Friday, also called for smooth-running festivities with an emphasis on helping disadvantaged members of society.

In his message, the Prime Minister required local authorities to assist people in underprivileged-areas, including flood-hit regions, poor areas, and families of martyrs, invalids, Heroic mothers and veterans.
