Jan. 10--The operator of Channel 9 television is teaming up with the director of the box office smash Suriyothai to produce Thailand's largest-scale drama at a cost of 100 million baht.

Phoo Chana Sib Tid, produced by MCOT Plc and M.C. Chatrichalerm Yukol, will draw on a legendary novel about the life of King Bayinnaung, known as King Burengnong in Thai, by Ja Kob which has been popular for the past four decades.

M.C. Chatrichalerm will finance the 100-million-baht production cost through his Prommitr Production Co, while MCOT will pay for marketing and look after the 34-part series' export market, according to ...
