* The story so far: Last month, K. agreed to let her old pal Shady Boy (aka Derrick) crash on her couch when he moved back to town. Despite his newly developed H-O-T surfer bod, she vowed to keep her hands off. After all, he was trouble. So when her boss at the news station decided he wanted to interview Shady for a position, K. got worried. Would they be able to stay strictly biz if they worked together? And how was his presence going to affect her dating life?

I'm not sure why I couldn't tell Shady Boy about the three online dates I'd set up. There turned out to be nothing to tell.
Maxomillion, the 28-year-old journalist, looked about 40 and had clearly dusted off a picture that was a decade old for his ad. Dumbnotdumber was cute, but not cute enough to outweigh the fact that he was still living with his parents. Manwithaplan not only didn't have a plan, he didn't have a job. Or enough money to pay for his half of dinner. And these were the promising guys. But my spirits were definitely lifted when Shady Boy IM'd me at work on Friday.
Shadyboy: I got the job. :D
AohK: Yee haw!
