Jan. 7--LPG FLOAT POSTPONED: The government has postponed a decision on whether to float the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for at least six months, according to Metta Banturngsuk, director-general of the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO).
LPG is mainly used for cooking, but can also be used to fuel cars.
Authorities had planned to float the LPG price this year, ending years of subsidies. They have decided, however, that the impact on consumers could be severe, coming just a few months after subsidies on diesel fuel were removed.
