Jan. 6--Durable sportswear that uses nanoparticles to reduce unpleasant smells has been declared the best local innovation for commercial purposes for 2005, according to the National Innovation Agency (NIA).
Supachai Lorlowhakarn, the NIA director, said the agency had selected the top 10 projects out of about five hundred innovations supported by the institute in 2005. They were judged on applied knowledge, creativity and attractiveness, according to Mr Supachai.
Nano-sportswear topped the table because 2005 was the first time silver nano particles had been used in the Thai textile industry, Mr Supachai said.
