Jan. 6--The Thai government is poised to inaugurate a Thai Select scheme to certify Thai restaurants overseas, helping diners to select eateries recognised by Thai authorities for the quality and authenticity of their cuisine.
As part of government efforts to promote Thailand as the "Kitchen of the World", the Thai Select certificate would be open to Thai restaurants overseas to subscribe through 53 Thai Trade Center offices worldwide, within this month, according to Chantra Purnariksha, director-general of the Export Promotion Department.
