Some 1,700 executives were surveyed in the latest Executive Quiz from Korn/Ferry International, a leading provider of executive search, outsourced recruiting and leadership solutions.
How do you get more meaning out of your work or build a new career? There are nine steps, says Andrea Kay, a career consultant based in Cincinnati and author of "Life's a Bitch and Then You Change Careers."

"Discover that restless gnawing at the pit of your gut," Kay said. "Think about what you'd do if you didn't have to make money."
It might be something you were attracted to as a child or inspired by the types of books you read.
