In the 1971 counterculture cult film Vanishing Point, actor Barry Newman played Kowalski, sharing top billing with a 1970 Dodge Challenger. With a new Challenger in the offing (Cover Story, page 14), Newman shared his thoughts on Dodge's iconic muscle car.
AW: What piqued your interest in the Challenger concept?
Newman: I saw that it was based on the 1970 Challenger and I thought `Oh my God, that's the same car I drove in Vanishing Point.' I love to see it, of course.
