The so-called "January effect" pushed the Stock Exchange of Thailand's index to the highest close since Feb 17, 2004.
The SET index yesterday closed at 743.20 points, up 17.56 points, in heavy trade worth 51.47 billion baht, also the highest since January 2004. For a couple of days into the new year, the market has risen 29.47 points.
