Jan. 5--Thirty six companies were listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand last year, raising total funds of more than 30 billion baht and lifting market capitalisation by more than 100 billion baht.

The SET said that of the newly listed firms in 2005, more than half saw their share prices close higher than initial public offering levels on the first day of trade and 22 companies gave out an average return of 22.2 percent, led by Sahamit Machinery (90 percent), Permsin Steel Works (54 percent) and Solartron (45 percent).
