Google up on $600 target price
The search engine jumped 5% to 435.23 after Piper Jaffray raised its '06 target price from $445 to $600 a share. The investment bank made Google its top pick in the large cap category, saying: "We expect new initiatives, in particular Google's ad network and Google Base, to generate meaningful revenues by the end of '06." The researcher sees the global search market growing by 41% in '06 and by 31% in '07. Rival Yahoo also rose 4.5% to 40.91.
