Jan. 4--PTT Plc, the state oil-and-gas conglomerate, expects steady growth of the energy sector this year due to the continued expansion of the Thai economy.
The oil industry in 2006 will grow at a stable pace, with crude prices expected to be in the range of $40 to $55 per barrel, said PTT president Prasert Bunsumpun.
"I think they will stay at $40 to $50 throughout the next three to five years," said Mr Prasert.
Continued global economic expansion is another positive factor. China and India are projected to post growth of around 8 percent in 2006 while Europe and the United States will still do well.
