Jan. 3--The big ape took it on the jaw this weekend as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe claimed the box-office crown from King Kong during a fierce four-day holiday battle. Narnia took in an estimated $32.8 million during the Friday-through-Monday period, bumping Universal's King Kong to No. 2 with a New Year's weekend take of $31.6 million. Less than $2 million has separated Kong and Narnia the last two weekends. King Kong led during the Christmas holiday with a four-day take of $33.3 million; Narnia was No. 2 with $31.7 million. This weekend, Fun With Dick and Jane took third place with $21 million, followed by Cheaper by the Dozen 2 with $19.3 million. Jennifer Aniston's Rumor Has It was fifth with $11.6 million.
